Liberation Counseling and Consulting provides feminist, anti-racist therapy for Sierra Vista and Cochise County residents

Feminist, Anti-Racist, Anti-Oppression Counseling

At Liberation Counseling and Consulting, we believe that true healing happens when you can bring your whole self to the therapy room. Too often, folx feel like they have to educate their therapists about their identities or hide parts of themselves. We believe this approach is fundamentally flawed.

People heal when they are seen, heard, and believed.

We're a diverse collective of professionals dedicated to supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds. We do our own work, constantly challenging our understanding of systemic issues. We embrace intersectionality. We strive to be better listeners, talking less and creating space for our clients' voices. Diversity and inclusion aren't just buzz words or lip service: they're the foundations of the work we do.

Liberation Counseling and Consulting provides therapy to Sierra Vista and Cochise County residents through both telehealth and in-person sessions at our Tucson offices. Our sessions are designed to meet you where you are, whether that's online from your living room in Sierra Vista or face-to-face in Tucson.

Indy Gloyd, LAC

Licensed Associate Counselor · Sierra Vista Location

Many clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, discouraged by past experiences, or burdened by the belief that something is "wrong" with them. Indy gets it. They take a person-centered, non-pathologizing approach that honors each client's individuality, lived experience, and identity. Trust, validation, and collaboration come first. When appropriate, Indy uses humor and playfulness to help soften self-criticism and create space for self-understanding.

Indy works with folx navigating anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, stress and burnout, self-esteem and identity concerns, grief and loss. Their specialties include gender identity exploration and support, autism-affirming therapy for adolescents and young adults, relationship diversity and kink-affirming care, and chronic illness and disability support. Indy approaches therapy through Humanistic, Strength-Based, Eclectic, CBT, DBT, and EMDR lenses.

Clients often develop greater self-compassion, clarity, and confidence over time, allowing them to build more supportive relationships with themselves and others and move forward with a stronger sense of authenticity and ease.

You're Not Broken

Neurodivergent-Affirming Therapy in Sierra Vista

Too many neurodivergent folx walk into therapy and are met with strategies designed to make them more "normal." That's not how we work. At Liberation Counseling and Consulting, we take a non-pathologizing approach that honors each client's individuality, lived experience, and identity.

Our Sierra Vista clinician specializes in autism-affirming therapy for adolescents and young adults, ADHD support, and helping clients recover from the stigma that can come with a diagnosis. If you've spent years masking, forcing yourself to fit expectations that were never designed for your brain, or feeling like something is "wrong" with you, therapy can help you find clarity, self-compassion, and a stronger sense of who you actually are.

We also support families navigating a new diagnosis, helping parents understand and connect with their neurodivergent child without defaulting to compliance-based models.

Skills for Real Life

DBT Therapy for Sierra Vista Residents

Dialectical Behavior Therapy is a skills-based approach originally developed for people who feel emotions intensely and struggle to regulate them. It's not just talk therapy. DBT teaches four core skill sets: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

If you deal with overwhelming emotions, impulsive reactions, chronic emptiness, relationship instability, or thoughts of self-harm, DBT provides a structured, evidence-based framework for building a life that feels manageable and worth living. Our clinician integrates DBT skills with a person-centered, affirming lens, meaning you'll never be shamed for your feelings or treated like a problem to solve.

DBT is available to Sierra Vista residents via telehealth. Sessions can be scheduled around your life, not the other way around.

Why Telehealth Works for Sierra Vista

Let's be real: Sierra Vista is roughly 75 miles southeast of Tucson. That's a beautiful drive through the high desert, but it's not one you can make every week for a therapy appointment. Telehealth removes that barrier entirely. You meet with your therapist from your living room, your car, your office, whatever private space works for you. All you need is a stable internet connection.

Our sessions run through a HIPAA-compliant, secure video platform. Same licensed therapist. Same therapeutic approach. Same continuity of care. For many of our Sierra Vista clients, telehealth isn't a compromise. It's the preferred format.

And if you'd rather show up in person? Our Tucson offices are always open to you. We have two locations: our Civano office at 10501 E Seven Generations Way, Ste 121, and our El Dorado office at 1200 N. El Dorado Pl, Ste D420.

Who We Help in Sierra Vista

We work with a wide range of folx in the Sierra Vista area. You might come to us because you're:

  • An adult managing anxiety, depression, or burnout whether it's about work, relationships, or just the weight of existing in this world right now
  • A teenager or young adult trying to figure out who you are, dealing with social anxiety, school pressure, or emotions that feel bigger than you can hold
  • A 2SLGBTQIA+ individual looking for a therapist who actually gets it. No explaining. No justifying. Just care.
  • Neurodivergent and tired of therapy that tries to make you "normal." Autistic, ADHD, or both? We see you.
  • In a relationship that needs attention, whether that means rebuilding, strengthening, or making a difficult decision together
  • Someone who's experienced trauma including childhood trauma, sexual trauma, accidents, or community violence. You don't have to carry this alone.

Not sure if we're the right fit? That's okay. Reaching out for an initial consultation is always a good first step. There's no obligation, and we can help you figure out what kind of support would serve you best.

Common Questions About Counseling in Sierra Vista

Is therapy available to Sierra Vista residents without driving to Tucson?

Yes! Liberation Counseling and Consulting offers telehealth sessions to all Arizona residents, including folx in Sierra Vista, Cochise County, and the Fort Huachuca area. You can access therapy from any private location with an internet connection. No commute to Tucson required.

Do you take my insurance?

The short answer is "maybe." Because we're a collective, some of our teammates can take insurance and others cannot. Please get in touch with us for more details about your specific plan. If we can't take your insurance, we can provide you with all the paperwork you need to submit to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement.

What are your rates?

Because we're a collective, each of our teammates sets their own rates. Visit the individual teammate pages for more details, or contact us directly and we'll help you find an option that works for your situation.

Do I have to come in person, or can I do therapy online?

Both! All of our teammates have in-person availability at our Tucson offices. We also offer online sessions for anyone who wants the convenience or flexibility of telehealth. Online therapy is available to anyone located in Arizona.

How does online therapy work?

It's really simple! Before your first session, your therapist will send you an email or text message with a link to a secure video site. At the time of your appointment, you just click the link to meet with your therapist. No tech wizardry required.

What should I expect in my first session?

Your first session is really a getting-to-know-you conversation. Your therapist will ask about what brought you in, your background, and what you're hoping to work on. There's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with. By the end of the session, you and your therapist will talk about what a treatment approach might look like and whether it feels like a good fit.

How do I know which therapist is right for me?

The most important factor in successful therapy is the relationship you have with your therapist. We offer free consultations so you can get a feel for a teammate's style and approach before committing. If the first match doesn't feel right, we'll help you find a better fit within our collective. No hard feelings, ever.

Is Liberation Counseling and Consulting affirming for 2SLGBTQIA+ clients?

Yes. We explicitly specialize in counseling for 2SLGBTQIA+ adults and teens. Our teammates provide affirming care that honors your identity, experience, and self-definition. You will not need to educate your therapist or justify who you are. Your whole self is not just accepted here. It's celebrated.

What is neurodivergent-affirming therapy?

Neurodivergent-affirming therapy is an approach that respects and validates neurological differences like autism and ADHD, rather than treating them as disorders to be corrected. Our clinician works with clients to build self-understanding, develop strategies that fit how their brain actually works, and recover from the stigma and masking that so many neurodivergent folx carry. It's therapy that starts from the belief that there is nothing wrong with you.

Do you work with teens?

Yes! We work with teens and adolescents facing anxiety, depression, identity questions, school stress, family conflict, and other challenges. We can discuss parental involvement during the intake process based on your teen's age and needs. Our teammates are experienced in creating a safe space where young people can speak openly and be heard.
